METHOD

The AC Swim Club teaching method was designed by Ann Curtis, and revised by Nathan Adrian and Will Copeland. The method is built from the ground up, putting a large emphasis on technique and the kick of each stroke. Each level has a unique focus, which when mastered seamlessly flows to the next level. Whether you’re going underwater for the first time or preparing for a swim team, triathlon or beyond, AC Swim Club has a place for you! Find your level below.

Level 1 - Seahorse

LEVEL 1: SEAHORSE

Skills Taught:
- Intro to water
- Puts face in water for 10 seconds

LEVEL 2: JELLYFISH

Skills Taught:
- Airplane Float front and back for 10 seconds
- Airplane Kick front and back for 10 feet
- Torpedo Kick for 10 feet

LEVEL 3: TURTLE

Skills Taught:
- Torpedo Kick for 20 feet
- Airplane Kick on back for 20 feet
- Freestyle Arm Circles for 20 feet
- Introduction to Backstroke with Chicken Airplane Rocket
Level 4 - Penguin

LEVEL 4: PENGUIN

Skills Taught:
- Pop Up Breathing
- Backstroke Arm Circles
- Introduction to Breaststroke with Monkey Tree Banana

LEVEL 5: Blowfish

Skills Taught:
- Side Breathing
- Basic Backstroke
- Breaststroke Kick

LEVEL 6: SEAL

Skills Taught:
- 25 yards of Freestyle
- 25 yards of Backstroke
- 25 yards of Breaststroke

LEVEL 7: JUNIOR OTTERS

Skills Practiced:

- Intro to Swim Team
- Perfect Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke technique
- Intro to Butterfly
